[Barron breaks quickly, without scoring.] So, how long have you been on the barge for?

I'd round it out to a month.

Just enough time to know this place sucks and I'd rather be back home. [She pauses to examine before aligning and taking her shot. She doesn't manage to sink any balls.] Though home does have a little more soapbox-y lectures for me than this place despite the equal amounts of self-righteous indignation at my bad behavior. So maybe I'll stick it out with this place for a little while just for a change of pace.

Bad behavior is relative. [Barron lines up his shot and misses, once again.] People are quick to condemn things that they don't understand.

Amen to that. [Elena pauses to take her shot and manages to pocket a ball. She doesn't immediately take her next shot though, instead opening up the bottle.] You know what the real pisser is though, I actually know two guys who both did the exact same thing I'm doing now. And they still want to act like they know what's best for me.

[She takes a drink and offers him the bottle.]

I mean, what would you do if you did the one thing to fix all of your problems? Would you really want to undo all of that and go back to being weak and helpless?

[Barron takes the bottle and takes a drink, nodding as Elena talks.]

I wouldn't take back anything I've done. What's the point? You'd get into guessing how things could be made worse or better, which never helps anyone.

[He shrugs.] The wardens are all hypocrites. Some of them are even former mass murderers.

They tend to keep it pretty quiet.

[Barron pauses, thinking.] I guess whenever you meet a warden that used to be an inmate, you gotta realize that they're probably lying about what they have and haven't done.

Some graduation process they got here. [She pauses to finally take her next shot, though she doesn't manage to pocket anything.] Though you must be pretty close since you're talking about going home...

Maybe. [Barron doesn't look overly enthusiastic about it. He takes his shot, missing yet again.]

Going home seems like a bit of a double-edged sword. I'd be home, but if I did anything too interesting the Admiral could just drag me back here.
