[Short, to the point, pretty blatantly worried. He'll be there in a few minutes.]

Cool. We should go and have a drink or something.

[Name = can now make a private filter.] Yeah, I know.

I think maybe we should make sure that you're all right, first.

I'm fine. That other guy didn't use my power that much in port. It's just a few details, okay?

Comrade, don't take this personally, but you have a habit of... trying to understate how bad situations are, sometimes.

I'm going to be on deck in a few minutes, and then we should consult the memory board, but I really need you to be honest with me now.

When you say stuff like that, it's really difficult not to take it personally.

I am being honest with you. I'm okay. I just really, really need a drink right about now.

Well... then maybe you should take it a little personally. It is a problem, Comrade.

But all right. We'll meet outside the wardens area and we can go for a drink.

[But that doesn't mean he's not going to try and work on your PAIN, Barron.]

[Time to start looking around for the wardens area! This may or may not be successful.]

A little problem. Not a big problem, most of the time.

[Warden area, where are you. :c]

Not a big problem when there's nothing major wrong.

[He reaches out to take Barron's arm, and steers him towards the entrance to the warden area, helpfully.]

This seems quite bad, Comrade.

[Oh hey, Prefect. Barron relaxes ever so slightly, although he's instantly back on the denial train.]

It's not that bad. It just took a few bits out of my short term memory. I'll be okay in a few hours.

Brother, my name, and the way around the Barge are not short term memory losses.

[He gives Barron's arm a concerned little squeeze, before letting it go.]

After we've had a couple of drinks, we need to talk about what you're missing.

It's the Swiss cheese principle. I'm fine with other stuff.

[Barron was going with that, because it thinking otherwise wasn't good at all.]

Drinks before anything else. [Barron is going to insist on that one.]

I don't think that's a good principal at all, Comrade. You don't even know what else you're missing.

[Prefect opened up the warden's area, and stepped to the side to let Barron through.]

The pub's the third door on the left. [He added, helpfully.]

I'll read my journal after a few drinks. It can fill in what I'm missing.

[Probably. At Prefect's direction, Barron walks into the pub.]

We can even do the memory wall thing, if you want.

I do want to do that.

[Prefect says emphatically. Then he falls quiet, as they approach the counter. He reaches across, and retrieves a bottle of something which is a pleasant green colour, and two cocktail glasses. This is probably a cocktail.]

Barron, in the port, you were able to look through my memories, as a way of remembering the Barge? Do you think, depending on how much you've lost, that's something you'd want to try doing here?

[Oh wow this was an awkward thing to offer to do.]

I mean, I know that you have memories that I couldn't possibly have been there for, and that this couldn't help with, but we spend a lot of time together now, and... I don't know. If it would help, it might be something to consider doing.

[Barron follows behind Prefect, brightening up when he sees the cocktail. He hasn't forgotten how sick of gin he is.]

If my powers are gone, I can't do that. [Barron frowns, then continues.] Doing it would take away something else, as well. It could make it worse.

I know. [Prefect says.] And it wouldn't be the same, either. They wouldn't be your memories of the things we've done together, they'd be mine. But... Comrade, if you decided that it would be worth it, then I could give you your powers back for long enough to do it.

[He pours the cocktail out into the two glasses, and hands one to Barron.]

[Barron frowns, but isn't about to turn down the idea.] I'll think about it. Work out how much Mysterio managed to burn through on his stupid villain stuff.

[Barron takes a glass and looks at it miserably.] It's so fucking unfair that the Admiral did that to me in the first place.

Supposedly, when we fall overboard, it's outside of the Admiral's control. [Prefect offers, but he doesn't sound convinced.] That doesn't make it any less unfair though. You shouldn't have to make this decision.

But I guess I have to. [Time to start drinking. As far as Barron concerned, it can only improve the situation.]

At least we didn't end up partners in crime or something. It would have been awkward if you'd been egging me on.

[Oh awkward. Prefect tops up Barron's drink, and tries not to think about the last time that happened.]

Yeah, it would have been. I really hope we never get that flood again.

Yeah, I'll say. It was probably better than zombies would have been, but still.

[Barron pauses, then looks at Prefect.] You didn't get hurt or anything, did you?

[Prefect quirks a little smile at Barron's question, before shaking his head.] No, Comrade, I got through it in one piece. Thank you for asking though.

[Barron grinned, taking a sip of his drink.] Good. It would be awkward if I'd hit you in the face or something and then forgotten about it.

[Prefect laughs, but for some reason it sounds a little forced.] Yes, Comrade, that would be awkward indeed...

[He takes a quick, and hearty swig of his drink, emptying the glass, before topping it up with more of the cocktail. Some things are better left unspoken of...]

Yeah, I'll bet. [Barron laughs.] Mysterio was a tool, though. I wouldn't have blamed you for hitting him in the face or something.

He just had a lot of problems, Comrade. If you'd lived in Gotham, you might have turned out like him. [Actually, Barron kind of did turn out like him, but Prefect didn't wanna say that if Barron thought he was a tool...]

Yeah, well. I would have been smarter than he was. He made a lot of mistakes when it came to how he ran his business. [Because in Barron's mind, being a villain is equal to running a business.]

What was he doing wrong, Comrade? I mean, other than being evil in general. What would you have done differently?

[Barron shook his head.] He cared about his henchmen too much. It would have got him into trouble, eventually. Not to mention that the way he just kept on fighting Batman was really, really pointless.

You could say the same thing about your family, Brother. I think people need to have someone they care about.

[Prefect hesitated then, and tilted his head in acknowledgement.]

You probably have a point about him constantly fighting Batman though...

I guess so. They were kind of like his henchmen family. He really cared about what happened to them, for whatever reason.

[Mysterio himself couldn't even remember why, but Barron wasn't about to tell Prefect that.]

Yeah. It's a dumb thing to do. Keep going against this guy even though you always lose.
